Guess I should update this!
I've been really busy with motor racing lately as I've finally secured a drive again for the remainder of this year and next year in the v8 utes which has taken up a lot of my time of late but this weekend is a long weekend so I've done a little bit of work! Purchased a lot of parts lately including minisport 7.9" 4 pot brakes ![]() Spek pro gauges (as used in NASCAR with lots of cool features) ![]() Protech coil overs ![]() 3tech cams ![]() And a few other bits and pieces! Today I fabricated a clutch slave mount which after coming up with several extravagant options, found a way of doing it in the most simple way while being strong! It's basically a peice of angle bolted to the gearbox casing then welded to some round bar which has been drilled and tapped to suit the rose joint with a small tab welded on which connects to whatever that box is on top of the gearbox (technical) which makes it super rigid! I then just welded some angle onto the original clutch arm and drilled a few holes for adjustment! ![]() ![]() ![]() Looks too close to the box there but it's not.. I also sat the suspension and brakes in ![]() And re fitted the engine, with the master cylinder reservoirs etc in to check for space ![]() Will get the engineer to come and have a look at my work before I throw it all into the real car! Can't wait! Cheers Sean |

Engineer told me to go ahead and build the car up, so I did, il let the pictures do the talking but I'm about 80% there with the dry build before i take it apart and paint everything and build it for real! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Too many things done to comment on! Enjoy! Cheers Sean |

Made an extension panel for my current dash today out of aluminium, still needs a speedo
![]() ![]() It's a two piece thing so the face plate will be painted (properly not just with a can like in the photo) and I upholstered the outside part in the same vinyl as the dash. ![]() ![]() ![]() Getting rid of the old Sony speakers to put something in which matches the rest of the system I have.. I also had the postman deliver a new pipe flaring tool to me today, I originally bought one of those normal style cheap ones which made bananase looking flares, this one is awesome! ![]() Here's my first attempt.. ![]() ![]() Much better then the pineapple before I can assure you! Cheers Sean |

this is gunna be a beast!! i have verry similar brakes to yours so i can run 10" wheels. im sure they will be ok while new but not sure when they wear out a bit. then also when i use my 13" wheels i think they take more stoping with that bigger rolling radious. anyway my coment about the open air holes is down to a fear of mine,, i dont care about a filter on the road funny enuff ive never had any major problems from that,,
it was down to a bad lesson when i was lerning, i was working on a alfa g.t.v 2.0 and had the airbox off i was happly reving it and 1 of the 3/8 th nut from the airbox got sucked in, cant say anymore about that but its given me a paranoid feeling when any engine orofice is open to nuts e,c,t. and yours are looking just ready for something to fall in,, im sure its o,k just me,, nice work there.

I like your dash design,I was trying for something like it but it did not end up as nice as I hoped.

Thanks, it isn't hard to make, cut a strip of aluminium and fold it around into the desired shape, weld it together. Weld the mounting tabs onto it, then sit it on some aluminium sheet and mark around it, cut the shape out, that's your face plate done.. I put nutcerts on the tabs and then mounted it with m6 Allen bolts.. Took me half a day to make

Geese, much has changed since my last update (I've been logged in with a different name wondering why I can't post... Now I know)
Without going into too much detail the car is 80% finished but I'm doing a commercial pilots license so funding is hard to come by. I've changed (since last update) the dash, cut the front off so it's removable and switched to fuel injection with throttle bodies. I've painted the engine bay and frame and started putting it all back together, run lines etc. painted the boot and fitted the fuel system but I'm waiting on parts to finish that.. Here's some pics Painted frame ![]() Exhaust ![]() Put the pg LSD I had in the gearbox ![]() Engine bay with lines and frame installed ![]() Boot ![]() Engine in with spaghetti everywhere ![]() Stainless fuel lines with billet mounts ![]() ![]() Brake lines are also billet mounted ![]() Triumph tt600 itbs which I like because they're easily spaced and don't have injector holes ![]() Dash setup (need to cover the brake lines) ![]() Little things like custom painting the gear knob ![]() Guess that's up to date now.. Any questions? Lol.. Il try and update as I do things from now on Cheers Sean |
