Have you tried a big ass battery? A big amp battery might make up the brief shortfall which you suffer when the alternator drops the ball.

Gotta agree with Mr Ardon to an extent too ..... yikes ..... ensure that your fan is relayed to pull its juice from a big wire running back to the battery. If it doesnt then stick one in cos the fan might be draining the dylithiam crystals so you can't get full warp drive.

hang on ive just been speaking to you on the phone? Were you multi tasking?

Ok i will do as Shaun suggests Just don't tell him or I'll never here the last of it. I'm only doing it as its cheap

I'm still not convinced there is anything wrong with my alternator.

Paul,

These bad boys will make your car use all of the gears.
I bet you don't need to use 1st gear to pull of at the moment. Your 5th is like 4th in std mini.
If you were using mk1 gearbox, I could get hold of 3.78:1 easily. Let me ask my mate who has mk1 and may be I can get spare so Alan might want to take mk1 instead of mk2!

Cheers

At the risk of hijacking your thread - I am still looking for a set of 3.52:1's If you happen across a set please let me know.

BTW I also agree with Ardonfast - get your power source closer to the battery.

Cheers
Bob Jonah
