To be fair, Tony did say the fit was 'a bit snug' hope you made an allowance?

I'll post a photo up of my broken very expensive wheel when i get a moment. Its mostly cosmetic damage to mine but will need to get it up in the air and have a good check.

Tessa's PC has been filled with Viruses by our daughter while we were away for the weekend, so it's out of action.

Thanks to anyone who voted me for best acheivement, but it was a little embarrasing. I got an award for breaking my car (again) and then fixing it.

Huge congrats go to;

- Geoff for driving 250+ miles for his first ever event with the car & then racing it with soft brake pedal & broken power steering. Still he managed a very respectable time in the 54 secs which is as quick as most of us on the first trip up Ollies Mt. Beautiful wee motor too ..... far too nice for racing.

- Allan beat Keith's Radical again for outright win & even took the Libre lap record knocking over a second off his previous fastest time. He very nearly got under 43 secs, which is eye wateringly quick for a single seater never mind a RWD Mini. Think he said that he's beaten 10 Radicals or thereabouts ........ he's getting cross-through stickers for the side of his car to siginfy each Radical he 'destroys'.

- PaulW knocked 2.5 secs off his previous fastest time, so all the winter mods must feel well worth it. His car was going very light at the rear under braking so there were a couple of brown trouser moments at the Mere hairpin. Eventually he went rallycrossing at the top of the hill after posting a 55 sec run in the grapes wet, on slicks, but not too much damage was done I dont think. (You got a spare NS front wide Miglia arch Mr ABS?)

- Richard got into the 48's secs without the aid of a butterfly crossing through finish line (sorry Richard) & was fastest Mini up the hill (maybe even fastest FWD, but times weren't up on the Auto66 site for me to check.) If anyone was in any doubt, we once again have to say ................. booooo!!

- I only managed one run before snapping a rose joint, which resulted in a bent coilover, gouged tyre & punctured oil pressure gauge line. Fortunately Allan has generator & angle grinder so he chopped the damaged items away. Paul had a spare oil gauge line, so he donated that. I only live an hour away from Ollies Mt, so I went home (via MarkD's place & he kindly supplied some 1/2" unf HT bolts) & got the spare HT rosejoints, then straigtened the shocker before heading back to Scarborough to re-assemble everything.

Well I had a brilliant weekend! I managed to get my first trophy for first in class over the weekend and I also brought home one of Mr ABSs achievement trophies, he's cute (that's the little guy, not Tony). Thanks lads for voting and of course a big thanks to Tony.
Looking at the results I was equal fastest FWD car on sunday with Mr Fryers 206 - still a few seconds of Allans Vauxhall times though.
This will bring the wrath of the mini gods down on me but I didn't lay a spanner on the car all weekend although the front tyres are looking decidedly second hand with some delamination happening. Maybe I should try feathering the throttle a little.

Well done Allan for being stunningly fast, as usual. I'm also amazed at what useful tools you conjure up out of that camper - An angle grinder!!

Geoff, hats off to you for driving across from Wales and keeping us amused with your graphic wit.

Paul, that run in the wet was incredible, just a shame about the 100 yds after the finish line, well done to getting it repaired in time for the last run.

Andy, how do you keep your good humor when your front suspension falls apart? I would have gone home in a sulk after that but you fixed it. I bet the oil on the brake pads was interesting

So, is anybody going to Mallory? Or is it going to be Teeside?
