sorry if it came across wrong but here is the lowdown. First off the whole trackday event nearly didnt take off because the sunday clashed with one of the auto66 rounds. John came up with the possibility of those who were going to miss out on the auto66 rounds could do the sprint with the raf lads on the sunday, as we would be looking at approx 6 cars, and arrange another activity for the others inorder to make it a weekend event After speaking with the clerk of the course John has informed me that we can now have upto 10 cars into the sprint on the sunday.

With this in mind the first dibs were intended to be open for those missing out on the auto66 round. The people selected to fill the remaining places on the sunday will be selected by the clerk of the course after the saturdays driving and will be offered to those he deems to be the quickest/safest on the day. The last thing he wants is 10 minis spinning off all over the place holding up his organised day (with this in mind maybe we should exclude the sprinters)

Now this is where i got a bit defensive, sorry if anyone took it the wrong way but i'm trying to keep it fair. The first places are safegaurded for those who were going to miss out, so it saw it unfair if someone who had never completed in a sprint to date suddenly jumps up and says i'm going to do the sprint championship, i want a place on sunday, oh and by the way i'm missing out on a double header for this. The rules for entering a sprint into the championship have been posted for a while and no-one has posted any others apart from the auto66 events and doune.

Pooler i know you have shown interest in the championship before and i have no doubt that you are going to compete in the championship but it was the first i had heard of it.

The problem i now face is what to do if we have more then 10 people running in the sprint championship

&^*% i cant be peachd,

I understand where your coming from Mark but we all have to start somewhere. I joined the Bristol motor club last week and only recently had looked at the dates. However the sprint selection that is made for the Sunday I would like to know before hand. If it is going down to the clerk of the course decision then that is fair but always leaves an element of doubt as to what you are actually going to be doing on that Sunday. I was under the impression that sprinters in the North get automatic inclusion into the event and since were going national assumed the same for the South. I dont want to be awkward or cause unneccesery bother but i would like to know how the national championship is going to work.

thanks

If the clerk of course doesn't want spinning Minis then I think that Miniwidow should drive my car.

On the last 3 events of last year I spun at Teesside, got airborne on kerbing & knocked over corner markers at Olivers Mount & rolled at Elvington.

A clear case of enthusiasm outweighing ability me-thinks

I think with the best will in the world Mark you'll not have more than 10 sprinters at the club trackday/sprint so I don't think it's something you need to worry about, there are possibly 3 (as far as I can tell fom the south) and now Paul has chickened out there'll be 3/4 from the North

Can the dates I posted be added to the sprint championship so all can view and they can count towards the championship?

Cheers.
