Turns out that it was the sprocket wheel making all the racket and luckily enough the bolt had not come out enough to allow the valves to make contact with the pistons.Finally got it back together and up and running 2 weeks ago.Top end was a bit noisy but a handy spin around the road and it was ticking over like a sewing machine,I was lucky enough to get OEM pistons,rings stem seals and bearings for the local Suzuki dealer who still have a great spare parts guy.Hopefully the rings will bed in nicely and I will have many miles of trouble and smoke free driving.
After that,if I was going anywhere,I was running.
