Sorry I had to go out....
4, The mk1 Punto 75 had a 1242 8v engine with a one off "big port" cylinder head that had the ports raised to allow a straighter flow to the valves and a special camshaft to get the power up from the standard spec 60 to 75 and also has the steel bearing caps from the 16v.
5, The 16v has slimmer and lighter conrods.
6, All 8v engines can be retro fitted with an Uno distributor.

So it may be a case of going down the 8v route for ultimate power if thats your thing or sticking to a lightly modded 16v so that you can wear the 16v badge with pride.
