But, once we put the supercharger on, it ripped the front one in half.. every time we dropped the clutch for a sharp getaway

clean the old floor first, maybe etch it to get a key and then on with the self...

yep a copper bolt.. copper is cool (sic) stuff when welding.. the metal will run up to it but doesn't really stick in this case it will also reduce the chance of melting the nut completely..

a) hammer the metal down around the hole so that there is a depression.. maybe 1 or 2mm ..
then when welding fill that area...
