Your Progress

I went to the doctor yeaterday and they tell me that I only have... maybe... 25 to 30 years left to live.

Get on the stick, man! I am starting to worry that I won't get to see your finished...

Sorry. I do not know if they have a supplier in Europe.
But! They do have a contact form at their website and they should be interested in telling you the information.
Absent that, you might...

No Malice Intended

Sorry, I tend to be kinda superficial and flip...

Like the time my son said he didn't believe in God... I gave him a copy of a Victoria's Secret Catalog, told him to look through it and then tell...

You take stuff too seriously... :)
Consider the suggestion as whimsy... and not the kind you get from eating radishes.

Certainly glad Benz didn't bring this attitude to the first motorcar... we...

Sleeper Mini

How is this for an idea?

Take a 998cc Mini in very good shape and leave the drivetrain UNTOUCHED! Now, install a 'busa kit in the rear end, put some nice wheels, tyres and arch extensions on it....

Newark to Los Angeles

A cheap way to go, but an arduous trip, is by Greyhound bus.

One-way ticket: about $210
Round-trip ticket: about $400

Paul! Paul! Paul!

Plainly you ignored my advice about the wife and house... ;)

Outside of Dick Bear's scale MacLaren M8 with a Honda 2L engine, yours is the most interesting project in years. ...

Front-Wheel-Drive ZZR1100 Mini

I have quite a few pictures of my front-wheel-drive Mini using a ZZR1100 bike engine at

The car was built by Colin Woollard...

To Servo or Not to Servo?

Most of the folks that I know (self included) removed the servo on the Minis that we raced. The effort was greater (not much), but the control seemed better... with a servo sometimes you would lock...

Apollo 11

Not only were there three guys sitting on top of it, each of them also knew that every part on it was built by the lowest bidder!

Reverse

It should not be a big deal if you are doing a rear-engine installation and have a little room.

There are several bike-engined race cars here in the USA that use a standard layout... front-engine,...

Norman's Mini

No. Not my car. It belongs to Norman Gower in Oz.

It was not done to make it mechanically complex. It was done because there was no room on the side of the engine where it normally mounts. The...

Drag on Gower's Alternator Drive

The only extra load on the engine is driving the jack-shaft and the two ball-bearing pillow blocks... probably a very small fraction of one horsepower... no extra load on the alternator per se.

More on Norman Gower's Alt Mount

If you are having any trouble figuring it out, he drives the alternator off a pulley on the right side (facing the car from the front) through a jack shaft supported by two pillow-block bearings with...

Crowd-Loving Mini (Bini)

The fact that no one was seriously injured just goes to show how much Minis (even Binis) love people.

Answer for Bear

Bear,

It is not a kit; it is a bespoke design using a brand-new MkIV shell.

And it is probably the classic tail of woe.

The car started with a trip to Kent Auto Developments (KAD) in 1996. I...

High Speed on Ice

As a former Mini ice racer I am a little amused by the OMG comments of going fast on ice "exposed to the elements." Consider this... if the driver loses control and tumbles, think about how much...

10-inch Tyre History Lesson

Chances are 10-inch Yokos or 10-inch Hoosiers will likely not get you hurt.
