1.8 vvc Mems2 just had the exhaust welded/replaced (battery disconnected), garage damaged the lambda sensor when taking it out so had to fit a replacement that needed wiring...

You shouldn't need bigger diameter pins? the standard size ones will work fine. If you wanted bigger diameter pins you would need to get different size rear hubs/bearings to fit the bigger pins....
