As some of you may remember I had a major oil leak back in June. I was positive it was the camplate oil seals.

SO I spent the last 2 weeks "fixing" that....

After fixing the trigger wheel issue. I drove to work one day, parked up and saw oil dripping of the sump guard.

One of the rubber cam seals had failed and there was oil all...

It isn't the cam bolt which is lacking but the rubber seal itself.

There aren't any small rubber pieces in the oil, though the oil is a little grey.

After breaking down a couple of weeks ago due to the trigger wheel moving/slipping. I managed to reset this, but it meant removing the radiator etc.

Yip the SC wheel. I have thread locked it and torqued up pretty tight now. I have made a mark on the pulley, so I can see if it moves.

Was indeed the trigger wheel. which had slipped. I have been using the car regularly for about 4 months after the engine build. SO I wonder why it has slipped, maybe it was...

if the trigger wheel hadn't slip, piston 1 would be at TDC with the crank /trigger wheel as above ( at 90 degrees).

Possible the crank trigger wheel has slipped. It wasn't loose enough to spin by hand, but when I put pry on it it moved 10 degrees or so before the crank pulley/dampner moved.

I posted a thread about 0-60 times a day or so ago, that all seems irrelevant atm since I broke down today. The engine sense restart.

The engine is a 1380cc with a specialist components 16v bmw...

I recently changed from a 1 3/4 rc40 to a 2 inch fletcher system with cat delete.
Maybe I am more used to the car, but it feels a little tamer either the larger exhaust. Just my imagination I guess.

An idea what the 0-60 should be in my 1380 k1100 (specialist components) headed mini?
I know it is not an absolute acid test of power etc, but it is a nice benchmark.

In the end I used a LHD standard SPI cable, but just the actual cable with the SC "sheath". The standard mini cable had the correct shaped nipple for the pedal. I hope it has solved the issue.

Good point, currently it is standard size do either 1.5 or 1.75, I thought in my limited knowledge that 2 inches there would be too much?
