Hi there I have been informed that you managed to get a c20xe into a standard mini round nose? I can't find your thread though. I don't suppose you could point me in the right direction?
Cheers
Sam
Have just joined up and I'm a Newbie for my sins. I'm doing a 2.0 XE conversion into my round nose mini - standard length. This build is going to be a bit back to front as I have the engine and gearbox all sitting in a home made frame. To explain ,I bought an unfinished project mini this summer, which had been converted to XE power.Through looking at Migweb I discovered that most people want the early GTE engines (156bhp) I found a fool proof way of checking the cylinder head - use blu- tack under the 2nd exhaust port and it says COSCAST. Checked the engine number and it is an early Astra GTE 16V code 20xe. I have a question regarding identifying the F20 Gearbox - Where are the identification numbers that tell me the final drive ratio? I've looked at the threads and found the picture explaining what all the numbers mean, but just cannot find where these are stamped on the box. I want to check this before putting the engine and box into the car.
